Your Stay at Adelaide Clinic
Your Psychiatrist will make the necessary arrangements for your admission to The Adelaide Clinic. On arrival please report to the Receptionist. Our General Practitioner will conduct a physical examination, usually the day following your admission.
Visiting Hours
Visiting hours are between 8.30 am and 8.00 p.m. every day but need to be arranged at times which don’t conflict with the group programme or doctor’s appointments. Visitors are asked to report to the Nurses Station on arrival.
Program
The program includes specialised therapy modules such as psychotherapy, relaxation, assertiveness training anxiety management, discussion groups, and a range of art and craft activities. For more information please speak to one of the nursing staff.
Fire Procedures
In the event of a fire, an alarm will sound and red lights flash. Staff will direct proceedings during any fire alarm. Emergency Fire Exit doors are located in areas highlighted by the green and white exit lights.
Smoking
The Adelaide Clinic is committed to good health for everyone and smoking is not permitted inside The Clinic, however designated smoking areas are available outside.
Alcohol and Non-Prescribed Drugs
The use of non-prescribed medication or alcohol whilst a patient may result in your discharge.
Car Parking
Patients are not to drive or park their motor vehicle at The Adelaide Clinic whilst an inpatient.
Transport
A regular bus operates from the City to The Clinic at bus stop 4. Timetables are available from Reception. A courtesy telephone for taxi services is available opposite the Reception desk.
Telephones
A telephone, with an answering facility if you are out of your room, is available in all rooms
Meals
If you have any special dietary requirements please discuss these with the Nursing Staff or the Catering Manager. Meals are served in the Dining Room on the ground floor at the following times:

Visitor meal tickets can be purchased at the Reception desk between 8.00 am and 7.00 p.m. weekdays and between 10.00 am and 6.00 p.m. weekends.
Recreation
Communal televisions are available in the patient lounges and in individual rooms. Newspapers are available in the patient’s lounge and a billiard table is situated in the upstairs lounge area. Games are available from the Day Centre on request.

Laundry
Patients are responsible for managing their own personal laundry. Laundry and drying facilities are available between 7.00am and 10.00pm.
Clergy
Visiting Clergy attend the Clinic.

A mobile Hairdresser is available on request.
